Globally, parenting and State education today is almost universally abusive. Constantly the criticism is made of the child: he has trouble sitting in his chair. The reason for that is the child knows better. The child knows that sitting in his chair is bad for his health. Learning to sit in a chair is considered good because it forces the child to accept that it must do bad things for those that have power to punish him. Those that refuse to be abused are ridiculed. They are shunned from society. The exercise is repeated over and over until the child kowtows and becomes subservient. This they are told is good and thereby divorces said child from their believe in themselves. Once they are broken in this manner they have been domesticated and become easier to control in a myriad of different ways. This is desirable for those that seek to control and enslave. Those children that ask why we do not sit on the floor pose a challenge to their teacher. The only correct answer is that that is not how the teacher was so enslaved. It is simply 'la reglé du jour' being the rules of the day that encapsulate Rousseau's social contract. Be like everyone else in order to succeed.

It is later in life that one realises the fallacy. They have been sitting in their chair as they were told to do for decades. They are in constant pain. They have lost their full range of motion. It is mostly men that suffer because the rules of society dictate women are to be brought up as child bearers, to cook and to clean. They remain useful for longer. Men, on the other hand, have outlived their utilitarian use by the time they reach their forties and so the sooner they die after that the better. This is the harsh real history of the world in which the Western world finds itself. Echos of this attitude remain prevalent in almost all aspects of society. Anyone who cares to look can find it. Elite sports are a prime example. Athletes generally have quite a low life expectancy. We idolise those that wear themselves out. We give medals and look up to people that do awful things to their bodies. We grade them through rules and laws that ensure winning comes at the sacrifice of the individuals health. We see it in business too. Success requires skipping meals, lack of sleep and no time to play. You make more money but lose the capacity to enjoy it. You make money that you have no ability to spend. The cost of immediate and timely satisfaction of your needs is raised so that your spending increases in line with your increased earning. Essentially, the more you do the harder it gets. The more you make the more expensive it becomes. You never actually get anywhere. This is the rules of society we find ourselves in today.

You can break the mold. Throw away everything anyone has ever told you about your own health. Start again with one goal: full range of motion. If you already have full range of motion, proceed to a new goal. If you do not, make this your full focus. It takes time time, possibly several years for the fascia that surrounds your musculature to stretch widely enough for you to move fully freely. If you go to fast, something will snap. If you do not exert enough pressure then you will remain stagnant.

Every single day bring yourself to the limits of your full range of motion in every single movement you have. In a relatively short time, this will only take a few minutes. Two or three times a week, try to push just a tiny bit further. Feel the pressure but do not put yourself in pain. Hold for as long as you can. Around five minutes will give you progress. Breath into the position and clear your mind. Focus on long exhales as your body stretches. Then simply go about your day. You will feel happier and more joyful in every breath you make and every step along your journey. Continue with this practice is whatever way you like but never depart from this core aspect. Once you have reached full range of motion a whole world of physical possibilities will open to you. Enjoy them however do not ever go back. Utilise your full range of motion every single day. It will without doubt become the happiest and most fulfilling part of your day. Enjoy.
